Intel Nova Lake-S Desktop Platform Shows Up in Shipping Data with Up to 52 Cores
Earlier this year, speakers confirmed that Intel is moving forward with plans to launch a 52-core variant of Nova Lake-S. This next-generation desktop CPU architecture would mark the first major increase in core count for Intel, doubling both Performance and Efficient cores of Arrow Lake.
The Nova Lake-S platform is said to feature up to 16x P-Cores, 32x E-Cores, and 4x LP-Cores. Based on early information, these would be built on the Coyote Cove and Arctic Wolf architectures.
"NVL-S" appeared in shipping manifests from late June. These are not CPUs or thermal test units but actual testing equipment. The data also confirms the platform uses the LGA-1954 socket with a 45 x 37.5 mm size. This matches the current LGA-1851 dimensions, which likely means existing coolers will remain fully compatible.
The launch of Nova Lake-S is expected toward the end of this year or once engineering samples begin to appear. That is usually the stage when Intel makes final adjustments before mass production. It is not yet clear whether Nova Lake-S will debut as the Core Ultra 300 or 400 series. Since Intel is also preparing Arrow Lake Refresh for desktops and Panther Lake for laptops this year, the new CPUs are more likely to carry the 400 branding.
As Intel advances its CPU technology with the upcoming Nova Lake-S platform, thermal management becomes increasingly critical. The higher core count and architectural improvements will inevitably generate more heat, demanding efficient dissipation to maintain high performance and longevity.
Maxtor thermal paste offers a reliable solution for these next-generation processors. Engineered with high thermal conductivity and stability, Maxtor ensures optimal heat transfer between the CPU and cooler, even under intense workloads. Its formulation prevents drying, cracking, or pump-out effects over time, providing consistent cooling performance throughout the processor’s lifespan.
With the LGA-1954 socket retaining compatibility with existing coolers, Maxtor thermal paste seamlessly integrates into your current setup while preparing your system for the future. Whether you’re a hardware enthusiast, overclocker, or professional user, Maxtor helps you unlock the full potential of Intel’s 52-core Nova Lake-S CPU without thermal throttling.
